THE OPPORTUNITY:
Cahoots NI are looking for audience hosts to support our vibrant audience engagement activity on a casual basis for our 2026 Programme.
Under the direction of Cahoots’ Artistic Director, our Audience Experience Hosts will help to bring the magic of Cahoots to life around Cityside Retail and Leisure Park. They will animate interactive exhibitions and ensure a safe, smooth and magical experience for our audiences.
This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone who might want to:
– gain experience with an award-winning professional theatre company,
– learn new skills,
– work with a registered charity supporting local children and young people,
– meet new people and have fun!
What’s important to us is that you are excited by creating world-class, theatrical magic for young audiences and their families.
Our hosts will be responsible for a range of duties including:
– Greeting and directing audience members where to go
– Attracting new audience members to engage with the activity and answering questions about events
– Advertising programmes/flyers at various points around the venue
– Assisting with setting up exhibitions spaces
– Checking guest tickets at events
– Helping to immerse the public in the experience and world, making exhibitions /events interactive and engaging.
We are specifically looking for people who:
• Have an interest in performance and storytelling with the ability to engage people in a narrative.
• Are passionate about immersive environments which spark imagination in young audiences.
• Will be comfortable interacting directly with audience members, specifically children, young people and their families.
• Are able to work efficiently and collaboratively with a small team
If this sounds like you, we would like to meet you for an audition workshop at Cahoots Theatre in Cityside Retail Park on Monday 17th August (2pm – 4pm).
DATES:
Following the audition workshop on 17th August, a selected number of hosts will be offered a paid
engagement with Cahoots NI as follows:
Training / Rehearsal Period: 18th – 19th August
Anchor Event : 20th – 22nd August, at Cityside Retail and Leisure Park, Belfast.
Further paid engagements will be required throughout the Cahoots NI Autumn / Winter
Season from September through December 2026.
Hourly rates will be commensurate with industry standards and compliant with all applicable employment legislation
