This Christmas, families in Northern Ireland are being invited to go beyond the bookshelf and step into the story, as an incredible new theatre experience, The Secret Bookshop, prepares to open its doors. The breathtaking new production, set to run at Belfast’s Cityside Retail & Leisure Park (6th – 24th December) has been crafted by Cahoots, world-renowned masters of theatrical magic, in partnership with The Deluxe Group, a global leader in designing spectacular, immersive experiences.
At The Secret Bookshop, not all stories stay on the shelf! Visitors will be invited to step through a magical portal that will transport them into the heart of a story they themselves have chosen. Once there, characters and scenes will miraculously unfold before their very eyes.
Artistic Director of Cahoots, Paul Mc Eneaney comments: “We are incredibly excited to be welcoming families into The Secret Bookshop this Christmas! Behind all our theatrical work is the shared magic of storytelling and this experience is a celebration of family togetherness and the enduring wonder found in books. “Working in partnership with the fantastic Deluxe Group has allowed us to take the design of The Secret Bookshop to a whole new level, with their expertise transforming our theatre space in Belfast’s Cityside into a truly stunning world of mystery and magic. We are also extremely grateful to have the continued support of Cityside, who give us the space, freedom and encouragement to bring theatre right into their heart of their mall and reach new audiences in doing so. “
