Frequently Asked Questions
How do I apply?
Please email [email protected], tell us about yourself and attach a recent photograph. If you have a CV/headshot/links to previous work – please add these to your email. Be sure to tell us about any special skills or interests you have. If you would rather record this information in a short video message, we’d love to see that too! We welcome you to note any access requirements in your email application.
Once applications close on Sunday 6th March, our team will review and shortlist successful applicants. We’ll contact successful applicants by email at least a week before the meeting date to confirm all the details.
Is this an audition for a specific upcoming production with Cahoots?
This isn’t an audition for a specific show – it’s a general meeting with our team where you will have a chance to chat and/or perform a short monologue or scene of your choice. We have a huge program of work planned for the next 18 months, from non-verbal, to scripted, to immersive pieces, both here in NI and on our established international touring circuit.
Do I need an agent, or a Spotlight profile to apply?
No – we are keen to meet performers regardless of whether they have an agent or not.
If I’m successful, what happens next?
You will be emailed a week in advance with details of the meeting. After our initial session, we may invite you back for a group workshop session with other performers.
Where and when will the meeting take place?
At Cahoots’ base in Cityside, Belfast, on selected dates week beginning Monday 14th March.
What should I prepare?
You may use the time just to have a chat with our team, however we encourage you to prepare a short monologue or scene so we can see you in action. If you have any interesting talents – circus, music, dance – we would love to see that too! We are expecting meeting slots to be in high demand, so we recommend keeping anything you would like to share with us to around 5 minutes long.
Can you guarantee that I’ll secure a meeting?
We predict that this process will be popular and therefore unfortunately can’t guarantee that everyone will be seen in this first round of meetings. If you are not invited to meet in this first round, we would love to keep your email on file for future opportunities.
