Where is The Grimm Hotel?

The Grimm Hotel is hidden in Cityside Retail & Leisure Park, York Street, Belfast, BT15 1WA. Come in the front doors and head for the centre of the mall to find our helpful Hotel Bellhops.

Can I take photographs during the performance?

Phones and cameras must be switched off throughout the performance, though there will be dedicated photo opportunities at the end of the experience.

Will I be able to bring food and drink into the Hotel?

We ask that you do not bring food or drink into the Hotel. A number of food outlets are available in Cityside for use before and after your visit.

Can I leave and re-enter the production?

Due to the nature of immersive theatre, if you leave mid-way through the production you will not be able to re-enter.

What time should I arrive?

Please aim to arrive 15 minutes before your designated time slot.

What is the recommended minimum age?

This experience is for children aged 8+. The Grimm Hotel contains some dark spaces, surprises, peril and all the Grimm villainous characters that every fairy tale fan would expect to encounter. Parents and guardians with children are asked to consider this when booking their tickets. Anyone aged 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Can anyone under the age of 16 attend unaccompanied?

No – anyone aged 16 or under must also be accompanied by an adult. You may be required to present ID as proof of age.

How long is the production?

You should allow approximately 75 minutes for your visit to The Grimm Hotel.

Is there an interval?

No, the performances takes place in one session.

What is an immersive production?

Audiences become participants in an experience rather than purely spectators at a show. The Grimm Hotel is a walk-through experience, featuring multiple spaces, with magic, music and live performances.

Will there be any seating?

There is no formal seating, although there will be opportunity to sit throughout the production. You will be required to move around the venue as the story unfolds.

If for any reason you are unable to stand for prolonged periods of time, please contact us at [email protected] in advance so that we can make sure the necessary arrangements can be made for you.

Are there any special effects I should be made aware of?

The experience features some strobe lighting and loud sound effects as well as some theatrical smoke. Auditory sensitivities or concerns should be raised with a member of staff before the show begins.

Is there a cloakroom?

No – please bring only small personal items for your visit to The Grimm Hotel, as you will have to bring them with you on your journey.

What should I wear?
We recommend you wrap up warm for your visit to The Grimm Hotel!

Do you have a gift shop?

Yes we do! A range of souvenir gifts will be available at the end of the experience.

Are toilets available throughout the performance?

No – toilets will be available for your use before and after your Grimm Hotel experience, on the first floor in Cityside.

Covid Policy

How will social distancing be managed?

Audience capacity has been reduced in line with the latest guidelines and to allow social distancing. Audience members will be expected to stay within their booking bubble throughout the performance. Our Grimm Hotel team members and performers will socially distance from audience members at all times.

Do I have to wear a mask?

Based on the latest guidelines, we are asking all ticket holders to wear masks unless there are medical reasons for them not to. In this instance, please make this known to our staff on arrival. You will not be asked to divulge personal information about the conditions of exemption.

What happens if I show symptoms of COVID-19?

Please do not come to the event if you’re displaying any symptoms of Covid 19. 

Should another guest or team member present with symptoms, a strict track and trace protocol is in place should we require to make contact.
