The Assistant’s Revenge is a brand new theatrical production, for older children (7+) and adults, from multi-award winning theatre company, Cahoots NI.
A phone rings in the dead of night. Sam Sullivan, a small-time Private Eye hears a frightened voice on the end of the line.
‘Someone’s trying to kill me’
The voice leads him to a strange travelling show at the edge of town where he meets Felix, an escapologist, and his assistants Molly and Crystal, one of whom appears to have murder in mind. Sullivan is plunged into a world of danger and deceit and a case with more twists and turns than a ten inch corkscrew.
Expect music, glamour, magic, death-defying escapology and even a little…murder.
Actor 1 – Felix (Playing age 25 to 40)
Felix is an escapologist always looking for a more dangerous trick to perform. In this regard he could be seen as brave but his character is marred by a belief in his own genius. In short he is a narcissist who perceives himself as the rightful heir to Houdini’s crown. He pursues fame. He is fit and agile and attractive to immature women who don’t see through him-until it’s too late. He is quite capable of domestic violence. American Accent.
Actor 2 – Molly (Playing age 20 to 30)
Molly is young and is a glamorous assistant to Felix. She has two sides to her nature, one which reflects her outer appearance and another which reflects the anger in her soul against the world in general and men in particular. When she has fallen in love she has found herself abused. She has been brought up in poverty, is cold, calculating and capable of murder. She sings like an angel. American Accent.
